Time is flowing away from you
Carrying me with its waves
Each gust of wind further
From the hint of your gaze

Your shadows disappearing into the dark
scurrying out of the light
The harder I grip
The wildly it hides.

But each gaze I throw
In the fields and skies
I can see the corners of your eyes
staring back, standing by

Each beat of my heart floundering
Each breath escapes, hissing
Your laughter fading
But your love here inside me, lit.

Beating, pulsing, having its presence
heard
felt
wanted.
